The Starfish Project

I've talked here once before about the charity that's closest to my heart and it's modern-day slavery, particularly sex slaves. A friend of mine recently moved to Hebei, China. Her name is Lorilee, and she blogs over at Loving Simple Living. She let me know about an organization where she volunteers, called The Starfish Project. They find women who are being exploited, befriend them, and give them a way out by providing a range of social, emotional and practical opportunities. Which means that girls live in the shelter, receive counseling, get work training, and have a job to provide income for themselves.

Their job is to create beautiful jewelry. Take a look:

The Starfish Project's in a great place this summer. Over the past year they've almost doubled the number of girls they help and increased the efficiency of production. While this is awesome, they're producing ahead of current sales. So...they're offering the necklace below at a huge discount (70% off) for 4 days only. Just enter the discount code 'STARFISH2013'

So have a happy Monday advocating for women all the way over in China! I'm so glad for people who create these organizations so we can help someone who's half a world away. It's phenomenal. Remember, the on-going help will be for more people to know about their products so take a moment to Pin, tweet or post this on Facebook.

Thanks so, so much!

P.S. I'm sharing this charity with you because I'm an advocate. I don't receive any commissions or free products.
